Welcome to my 1st Christmas home tour on the blog! I’m one of those who see others doing them and I follow those home tour hops every Christmas and I think to myself, “I want to do that!”. Well, I finally did! I guess what inspired me was the fact that we started daily vlogging on my new vlog YouTube channel. Everyone is seeing how we decorate a little each day. I just had to film a separate video just for my home tour.
For those of you who love photos, I’ve also included in this post those too, but be sure to watch the video too!
My theme this year included everything red and white snowflakes! Enhanced of course with a splash of silver and gold just like the Christmas song. I just love using Christmas music as my influence.
Here’s the cozy living room all decked out. I don’t have a fireplace so I use my television console table as a faux one. Flameless candles light up each stocking hung by the chimney with care. My special nativity blanket, white throw and menorah pillow cover my old pink wing back chair. We also celebrate and recognize the feast of dedication or Hanukkah as a holiday. I also add the splash of this special holiday into my decor.
I love the bright entry with a pop of red from the poinsetta and joy on the door. The grey and white rug ties it together.
My nutcracker collection is displayed on my entry way table along with old nostalgia dolls from my childhood. I have to give credit to my Aunt Maryann for my love of nutcrackers at Christmas. Every time, I visited her home, I delighted in seeing her abundant nutcracker collection from all over the world. The mauve nutcracker on the end is actually my first one and my aunt gifted it to me at Christmas. She passed on at the early age of 46 years of cancer when I was only 18 years old. So, every time I bring out my nutcracker and display my small collection, I remember her.
The small nativity may not be much to look at, but it is very special because it’s the first set I bought the year I got married. Definitely something I will pass down to Hadara.
We invested in a new Christmas tree this year. It’s smaller, shorter and just perfect. Many of the tree decorations I bought at Target. The red sparkly snowflakes and pine cones bring out the red accents. Along with the red ribbon. We also decorate the tree with all my ornaments I’ve saved since I was little and the ones we’ve added with Hadara. This year, on the top we added an angel instead of a star. Hadara loves to help me decorate the tree. In fact, in our funny daily vlog, you can watch us decorate the Christmas tree!
This year, I did invest in new Christmas pillows for the sofa. Keeping with my red and white theme, I bought these pillows at Target Dollar Spot. The silver and white snowflake and Peace pillows I bought at Burlington Coat Factory. I covered my beige sofa with a white throw and added a red heart for a pop of color.
On my corner end table I made a fun collection of M + M’s chocolate, Christmas coloring books, sugar cookie candle and decor. Notice the silver snowflake from the Dollar Tree. I added ribbon to it and hung it from the gold mirror.
Moving on to the kitchen/dining area, you’ll find a simple european farm style Christmas.
Every year, I decorate my baker’s rack with my lighted victorian village. My mom handed this down to me since it was something she always let me decorate when I was little. It brings back a flood of so many memories when I display it. My special Christmas dishes I inherited from my grandmother Margaret are displayed on the top shelf.
Here’s a fun wall collage I used to help display Christmas cards and wall art.
On the shelf are my Christmas aprons hanging in the corner. The big apron is mine and the smaller one is Hadara’s apron. I bought these mother daughter aprons when Hadara was only three years old. They match so perfectly with the snowflake red and white theme! Although, this year she finally outgrew hers (tear). Now, they get displayed together as a loving memory of all the times we baked Christmas sugar cookies and tamales together. One day, I know, her daughter will wear it (happy tears).
Now to my dining table! I continued with my red and white snowflake theme.
I bought a real pine centerpiece from Trader Joe’s. Yes, just for the wonderful fragrance! I added a white Christmas tree from Target with some pine cones and flameless red candles sitting on top of a red and white runner. It totally reminds me of candy canes!
Here’s a bird’s eye view!
For each place setting, I layered a red circular sparkly placemat from Big Lots, gold chargers from Dollar tree, my Christmas china, and white linen napkin monogramed with a V. I made the napkin rings with Christmas gift tags, red ribbon and gold pine cones.
On to the rest of the kitchen!
Bright, simple and clutter-free! That’s how I like my kitchen. The candy cane stripe border hanging from the window is from Target Dollar spot.
I decorated my utensil holder as a snowman, candy canes and snowflakes make it look a lot like Christmas!
Every year I want to make a hot cocoa bar, but don’t have the room. Here’s my version of my tiny cocoa station for two. I found the Cup of Cheer tags for free online and just tied them on to the cups with some red and white string.
My Christmas mice stand on top of the range, which I’ve had since I was a child. My mom bought them from me at a Home Interior party. Do you remember those? It was an 80’s home party thing. If you know what I’m talking about, comment below because us 80’s children have to unite! Anyways . . . my white tea pot is sitting pretty on the burner ready for brewing and a cinnamon spice candle is lit. It smells so good! Just like I’ve been slaving over the oven, baking gingerbread cookies all day!
Chalkboard paper added to my pantry door is used for our Christmas countdown. Such an easy way to make a chalkboard anywhere!
And that’s it! My Christmas Home Tour 2016 complete. I hope it gave you some fun and fresh inspiration. Be sure to watch the video for all the extra details and just because it’s fun to watch.
Please comment below with your home tour link and I’ll be happy to hop over to yours! Don’t forget to pin this page too.
It’s been a while since we did a shopping vlog so I thought it would be fun and helpful to show you what the Dollar Tree has for Christmas! I found beautiful holiday decor, homeschool finds and gift ideas all for $1. Although it’s the dollar store, we must be wise with how we spend our dollar. Not everything at dollar store are good deals. When I shop on a budget, I also look for quality.
Here’s a list of holiday decor and gifts ideas I believe are a great deal compare to shopping at retail stores.
Decorating your home for the holidays is a snap with the fun things I found:
Wood wall art- I love decorating my home with the snowman theme for the holidays since we don’t get snow here in my part of Arizona.
Tons of wrapping paper, even name brand names and gift bags
Pretty ornaments- great quality, variety of colors and package sets by the dozen.
Sparkly silver jars- perfect for candles or holding holiday treats
Kitchen towels and oven mitts- I also use these to make gift sets for teachers or neighbors. Add a baking mix and a wooden spoon to a oven mitt, tie it with ribbon.
Holiday dinner plates and chargers in gold or silver add glamour to a table scape.
Paperback books- add a coffee shop gift card and tie it with a bow.
Pretty stationary-great for moms or scrapbook lovers.
Adult coloring books- add some colored pencils to complete the gift.
Calendars or daily planers- make great gifts for teens or moms
Pencils, erasers, and mini games make great stocking stuffers or Hanukah gifts.
Activity packs of various subjects for different grade levels
Classic books- I found A Christmas Carol which is great for read-aloud in December.
Crafts in a bag- great for homeschool art projects and decorating the home.
Plastic ball ornaments- make great DIY projects for the kids to paint and embellish to make their ornament of the year.
Stickers- great for adding to packages, cards and for crafts.
Bible mini figurines- the best find of my vlog! These are perfect for telling Bible stories especially the birth of Jesus.

Sadly, last night was the end of Chanukah-8th day. My family looks forward to celebrating this feast of the Lord every year. This past week has been a time of reflection, dedication and a celebration of miracles. Also, it’s been a special time of family traditions, noshing on latkes and jelly donuts as the kiddies play dreidel and sing songs. Oh, and a small gift is opened every night too! It’s been a week long party! Watch my Chanukah 2014 highlight video here. Today is Christmas Eve. Do you think it’s a coincidence that Chanukah, the Feast of Dedication occurs during the Christmas season? In John 10: 22, Jesus celebrated the feast in the temple with His fellow kinsmen. It’s mind blowing to think that Jesus the light of the world is standing in the midst of His Jewish people in the temple during this festival of lights. Jesus is standing among the people as the ultimate light of the world. Wow! He fulfilled the feast of the Lord. According to John 8:12. Jesus said, ” He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life”. The New Testament book of John is the only reference to Chanukah and also full of references of Jesus as the “light”. Yet many could not see Him as the ultimate light. Sounds familiar with the way it is today. Although the temple was lit by the menorah, Jesus lights of the hearts and souls of men. Yeshua’s the light! The Light who drives out the darkness.
During this season, my family likes to drive around and look at the pretty lights that adorn neighborhoods and shopping malls. I also love to watch the glow of the flickering candle lights dance on the menorah. As each night passes, one more candle is lit and more light illuminates our home. Light is a beautiful thing. Yet, it is more noticeable in the darkness. It glows softly, yet with glorious power. As believers and followers of Christ, let us remember to shine our light to others in this manner. May our words and actions be loving and gentle, yet bold and powerful. May our lives be lived in a way that the light of Jesus in us can shine bright to others and wake up a dying world. Through the darkness there is light.
Chanukah is also a time to remember the miracles of God. Throughout the Bible, God shows His miracles in various ways. The Lord shows us that He is faithful. He may not come when you want Him, BUT He comes right on time. Jesus came to us right on time. Joy to the world, for the Lord has come. The birth of Messiah was a perfect plan, ordered and designed by the Father. Perfect Timing. The world had to wait many years for it’s Redeemer to be born. O Come O Come Immanuel. The good news is that He came, and He is coming again. Jesus, the light of the world will reign once again on this earth. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
May your family be blessed with joy and love this Christmas season. We are thankful for all your support and encouragement you’ve given us this year. If I could reach out and hug every one of you, I would. You are simply the best! With love, from our Little Pink Casa to your casa, Merry Christmas!
Do you need a holiday makeup look? On Fashion Friday I shared about the Peppermint Twist Christmas party I attended with my husband Ruben. Today I share with you the makeup look I wore that night in four easy steps. It’s time to get glam for the holidays!
I hope this showed you how easy it is to pull together a glamorous holiday makeup look. You’ll be shining at all your Christmas parties and family get togethers! I’d love to see how your makeup looks turn out. Please share with me on social media. Merry Christmas! Blessings and Shalom,
Every year for Christmas, Ruben and I plan a special date. We started this Christmas tradition the first year we began dating. It’s sort of sentimental for us. Some years are simple, and some are more extravagant. Some years we exchange gifts and other years we just enjoy each other’s company. The importance about this tradition isn’t what we do together or how much money we spend, it’s about being together.
This year, Ruben’s company hosted a Peppermint Twist party for all the employees at a beautiful hotel. We decided to take this opportunity to use this event as our special Christmas date besides it fell on 12/13/14. Too cool! I made a fun vlog video about our evening. You can watch it hereor scroll down below.
It’s been a while since I attended a banquet so I had so much fun getting all glamorous. Can you see how excited I am on our way to the event? Usually Ruben attends my Mary Kay gala events with me, but this time I got to be his guest. The theme for the party was peppermint and the colors were red, white and black. Ruben looked dashing in his favorite charcoal grey suit. He also wore a white tuxedo shirt and a red silk tie he found at Ross (which totally matches my dress). I wore a chiffon red dress which is one of my favorite oldie but goodies closet staples. My feet sparkled in my silver princess heels. Every woman should have some of those. . . shoes that make you feel like a Princess! Next, I had fun with my makeup.Who can resist red lipstick when you’re dressing up for a Christmas party? You can’t tell in this photo but you can see it more in the video. My makeup holiday look will be coming up in a tutorial this weekend.
Overall, we had a blast! After dinner, we devoured a yummy white chocolate dessert. The presentation was so pretty.
The night was young, and we were off on the dance floor. Ruben and I held each other close as we danced the night away. I think that is my favorite and most romantic memory of the evening. I could have danced all night (in Audrey Hepburn singing voice). We so needed this evening together!
Sometimes, we just need to get away and spend a wonderful evening with our spouse. No kids, no interruptions, just us. I encourage you to take some time this busy season to enjoy your spouse. It’s important to make memories with your children, and it’s even more important to make memories with your spouse. Even if you can’t get away, spend a romantic evening together at home. Put the children early to bed. Slip into a jazzy dress, start the music and dance the night away . . . Merry Christmas! Blessings and Shalom,

Hadara and I had fun mother daughter time in the kitchen Sunday making a yummy Christmas treat. Combine pretzels, white chocolate and peppermint and what do you get? A delicious and easy Christmas gift idea! There’s just something about the combination of salty crunchiness, white chocolate, and candy cane. Speaking of candy canes, I love the story or legend of the candy cane and how it can relate to Jesus. In our video today, you’ll see our fun recipe and hear Hadara share the candy cane poem from Ministry to Children with you. Thank you for watching our video below.
I love making precious memories in the kitchen with my daughter. We crank up the Christmas/Hanukkah playlist and plug in the lights. We talk about the meaning of Christmas and reminisce about Christmas past while the wonderful aroma of Christmas fills the air. During the next few weeks, I’ll be taking time to enjoy my daughter, making those cherished family memories that one day I hope she’ll carry on with her own family.
This season, take some time to get messy in the kitchen with your children. Cherish the time you have with them. Forget the schedule, to do list, and keep it simple sweetie. Joy truly comes from the Lord and He can give you and your family joy through this season. No matter what you are going through during this time. Don’t allow the pressures of this world to keep you from truly enjoying what matters most. Joy to the World, the Lord has come! Joy to your family today and always. Merry Christmas!

Need some gift ideas for the little girls in your life? Whether you’re shopping for a birthday or the holidays, you always need some great gift ideas. While my daughter Hadara and I were shopping last week before the crazy rush, she filmed a fun video of unique gifts for little girls. You can watch her video, UltimateGift Guide for Little Girlshere. These gifts are fun, encourage role play imagination and keep the little in your little girl.
The new Dora is older and has sweet little friends. Hadara had outgrown Dora the Explorer and since we don’t have cable t.v. or satellite, well we just don’t watch the cartoons anymore. However, this cafe play set is always great for imaginary play and we love how it is interactive.
Hadara has collected Lalaloopsy for a few years now, but she really likes the tinies collection. This playset comes with two Tinies Cinder Slippers and Prince Handsome. The Royal Castle small enough to tote along to Grandma’s or to play with in the car. A great travel toy.
Today, I remember a compelling message given by one of our Pastors we served under in ministry years ago. It touched me then and still convicts me even years later. I share it with you as a reminder that Jesus is the reason for the season.
He still comes in to a crowded world. It was crowded then, but it’s more crowded now. We live such busy, cluttering lives and they are even more so than at the birth of the Messiah. We come home loaded with bundles of gifts of love for others, but we get impatient and blow our horns at the cars ahead of us. Hardly anytime left enough to buy a tree, and we frantically wrap the last of the packages just moments before we are to tear them open and rush off to somewhere else and back again. Exhausted. Here we are during the Christmas season again. Hoping to hear the angels singing. Needing a star to follow, really wanting to kneel at a manger. We mean to adore Him with Mary and we do believe with Joseph. We want to worship with the shepherds. Our hearts long to rejoice with the wise men, but somehow there’s not any time. And it’s in such a world that the angels come again and again to sing these life giving words, “Yeshua Jesus is born!”. Just as those words came and changed a barn filled with cows, straw and bush rind. A hillside dotted with sheep and shepherds into a cathedral. A sky filled with stars with a message from our Father. So they come, to you. They as old as eternity. As fresh as the morning, simple as a baby, as majestic as a psalm and as warm as a mother’s arms. And as mighty as God himself. Yeshua Jesus is born. Yeshua Jesus is born. -Pastor Ron Treadway (Pastor T)
Will you make room for Him today? Will you make room for Jesus in your life?
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord.
From our Little Pink Casa to your Casa,
May you be blessed with the peace (shalom) of Adonai and the love of His son Jesus Yeshua, the Savior of the World.
